Other IB Activities

Group 4 Project:  All students are required to participate in a major project that incorporates all of the science disciplines (Physics, Biology, Chemistry).  Over the past years, this has involved a study of the Otago Harbour marine environment through a 2-day project based out of the Portobello Marine Studies Center.  After designing their experiment, collecting data, and performing the appropriate analysis, students present their findings to the full student group and to the aquarium staff.

CAS Camps:  From time to time camps will be organised to give students the opportunity to be involved in service work in the wider community.  IB students have had an ongoing involvement with St Martin’s Island in the Otago Harbour.  Beach clean-up, track clearing, building erosion prevention walls, etc are just a few of the conservation activities that boys have participated in.
