The College accepts enrolments from International students any time during the academic year.  However if homestay accommodation is required, enrolment is conditional upon our finding suitable quality homestay providers.  This sometimes takes several weeks.

School Tuition Fees

School tuition fees cover the provision of tuition including ESOL classes and textbooks.

Homestay Fees

The Director of International Students arranges places in homes in the local community for our international students. The fees for homestay cover a period of 46 weeks, which includes term break holidays.

John McGlashan College is also a boarding school, however our hostel usually has filled all its boarding places. There sometimes may be a place available and you are welcome to enquire. But there is no guarantee of a place.

Disbursement / Examination Fee Deposit

The disbursement deposit is used to pay accounts incurred by students during the time they are studying at John  McGlashan College. As an example these accounts include sports fees, school field trips, school stationery, second hand uniform and examination fees.

Unused Funds

Any funds remaining in the homestay or disbursement deposit accounts of a student will be refunded following the completion of their education at John McGlashan College. 

Conditions of Acceptance

International Students Entry Criteria

  • John McGlashan College accepts students from Year 7 – 13 (age 11-18 years) who have some  English language skills, however intensive English language assistance is available.
  • Year 7 and 8 students must be living with a parent.
  • It is important that students have a genuine desire to learn and they must have a good record of attendance at their previous school.
  • Students must be willing to sign the tuition agreement and abide by the school's rules.
  • School reports should accompany an application to study.
  • The school reserves the right to place the student in appropriate courses based on the student's competency in English.
