Cricket at John McGlashan College


Cricket is played on Saturday afternoons by Senior and Junior Teams as well as Twenty/20 teams playing in the Wednesday competition. John McGlashan College has interschool fixtures for the 1st X1 and Junior Interschool Teams against St Andrews College and Waihi. There is a John McGlashan College Cricket Club committee that helps administer cricket at the college.



Practice facilities are either at the College or at the Edgar centre.


Student Commitment Required

Players are required to attend practices after school (either once or twice a week) and play on Saturday mornings/afternoons. Once selected in a team boys are required to attend all practices and competitions until the end of the season. 1st XI players' start their matches in the morning and also play through the summer holidays.



Disbursements of transport costs plus association fees and match balls.

Cricket Update 2018-2019

Welcome family, friends and John McGlashan College cricketers, as we find ourselves well into another exciting cricket season, although the rain has been having the last word on a number of occasions thus far.

New annual sports exchange at Timaru Boys' High

St Andrew's travelled down from Christchurch and played John McGlashan and Timaru Boys' in Cricket, Touch, Golf and Tennis.

Queenstown Cricket Carnival

An invitational side from John McGlashan College took part in the inaugural Under-17 Cricket Carnival in Queenstown in January and what an event this turned out to be.
