This year’s Southern Art House Tour was a resounding success — blessed with perfect weather, enthusiastic visitors, and a record number of artworks sold.
Guests had the rare opportunity to explore some of Ōtepoti Dunedin’s most beautiful homes, each transformed into a gallery showcasing the work of over 60 artists.
The event was a joint fundraising venture between the Columba College Arts Council and the John McGlashan College Parents and Friends Association, reflecting a wonderful spirit of collaboration and community.
A very special thank you goes to our generous sponsors and supporters, without whom the tour simply would not have been possible. We also extend heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Southern Art House Tour Committee, our home owners, and our volunteers, all of whom contributed to a smooth and memorable event. We were also delighted to once again feature the historic Dunedin Club as one of the special venues on this year’s tour.
One of the tour’s standout highlights was the opportunity to visit the award-winning Columba College Boarding Village, where our student helpers warmly welcomed visitors and shared insights about boarding life. This year also saw selected student artists exhibiting and selling their own works for the first time — adding a vibrant new dimension to the event.
From our humble beginnings last year with 32 artists, the tour has now grown to 61 exhibitors, showcasing both the strength of our community and the vibrancy of the Ōtepoti Ōtago art scene. We’re thrilled by this momentum and look forward to seeing the Southern Art House Tour become a regular fixture on the College’s fundraising calendar for years to come.
