Mr. Neil Garry - Principal

M.Ed. (Distinction), Dip. P.E., Dip Tchg.

Mr Garry is a long serving member on the John McGlashan College staff. He started working as Head of the Physical Education department and quickly moved to more senior responsibilities. Mr Garry took up the post of principal in January 2014.

During his time at the college he has held senior leadership roles in both the boarding house and school and has had a powerful influence on sport, outdoor education, curriculum development and cultural activities.

His focus is on creating and maximising opportunities for every student.

He applies a common sense approach and engenders mutual respect within the student body. He finds McGlashan an inspiring place to work and he has much to offer!

My Year at John McGlashan College

This has been my first year at John McGlashan College as a Year 9 international student. It was great fun studying here. When I first arrived, I saw farms, hills and trees everywhere from the window, and thought it must be a good place to study.

International Prefect and 2016 Dux Jerry Chen's Final Word

School, a place where we all have to come. Once it was the worst thing for me as I had to leave my home and parents for some time, but John McGlashan College has turned the cries of mine into laughter, and it made high school time a very special part of my life.
