The annual Easter basket initiative was able to go ahead 'in-person' again this year and brought much joy to the residents at the Yvette Williams Retirement Village.
The prefect teams of Columba and John McGlashan Colleges once again collected, packaged and delivered Easter baskets to the residents of a few retirement villages and Presbyterian support, but this time, in-person again after a lay-off of two years of face-to-face connection caused by the Covid pandemic.
Within a few hours of delivering the baskets, and spending time chatting with the residents, we had already received a number of emails and calls thanking the teams for their kindness. Service does not have to be something 'big' to be significant; it's often the small things that show our care and concern for others, the 'little things' we all can do. Many thanks to our communities for donating all the baskets and chocolates this year - your efforts combined with those of our amazing prefects has made a difference in the lives of many who do not always experience the little joys of life that often.
