Year 13 students got amongst it this week at the JMC Second Campus in Te Anau Downs.
The cohort worked in small groups to work through and experience leadership and teamwork in a range of challenging situations. Activities such as raft-building and adventure-based learning challenges had a great focus on teamwork and communication, as did the karaoke in the evenings. Other activities allowed them to learn about what type of person they are, and how they wanted the year to finish with their testimonial. Additionally, the groups had a night in a bivvy where they had to concoct a gourmet delight and do their best to dodge the sandflies!
This was a great opportunity for the cohort to come together and launch into their final year at school. I am confident they will make the most of the year, and I look forward to seeing them actively engaged in volunteering and mentoring around the college.
