Great heights in Year 12 PE Camp

Wednesday 8th August 2018

Boys were carving and shredding at Treble Cone, attaining great heights in the process.

The class was lucky to have three blue sky days with great snow where they improved their skiing and snowboarding skills for their NCEA assessment.

This was the first time for a John McGlashan boy on this camp where first-time skiers and snowboarders showed remarkable skill improvement to gain merit grades. Riley Hall, Zack Matthews and Oli Walker worked remarkably hard to gain this grade, so well done to them. This is not to say the other boys on the camp did not, as the group overall gained grades they should all be very happy with.

Other highlights would have to be seeing Leroy Ferguson, and Morgan Sim take on the 'Bullet'. The boys showed guts, determination and sharp edges to negotiate this challenging red run.

Night time meals are always a talking point with a variety of cooking skills on show. Meals ranging from the reliable frozen pizza to home-made lasagne (thanks mum), to a couple of kilos of the finest fresh kill.

All in all, a very successful trip.
