From new activities to community gatherings, there’s plenty happening at Te Kūwaha Mātauraka, and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our amazing community.
A huge thank you to the John McGlashan Parents and Friends Association (PFA) for funding our brand new basketball hoop. This is another fantastic activity for groups to enjoy while they’re onsite - whether it’s a casual shoot around or a full on game, it's going to be an absolute blast to get some half court games going on.
We also want to give a massive thank you to the Te Anau public who joined us for the orienteering morning at Te Kūwaha Mātauraka. With close to 100 people running around and tackling the course, the energy and enthusiasm was incredible to see. We’re excited to build on this success and will look to host more family-friendly events to engage with the community once the weather warms up - so keep an eye on our page for updates.
And finally, night disc golf, how good!!! The Te Anau disc golf crew were onsite in the weekend testing lights on the baskets and glow in the dark discs. It’s safe to say this unique twist on the game is going to be another awesome option for groups who visit Te Kūwaha Mātauraka.
