Tēnā koutou,
Our NCEA boys and Year 2 IB Diploma boys have had their practice exams this week. Hopefully, they are all now in a good frame of mind to work diligently over the next few weeks as we lead into their final exams in Term 4.
Our College Board elections have now closed, and we will soon know who the new members of our College Board will be. I would like to thank those current board members who are standing down for their service over the last few years.
The PPTA are following through with rolling strikes next week. Therefore, as mentioned last Friday, the following year groups cannot attend school next week.
Monday 15 September: Year 12 & 13
Tuesday 16 September: Year 11 (Swimming Sports Day)
Wednesday 17 September: Year 10
Thursday 18 September: Year 9
We are all looking forward to the School Fête tomorrow, and even though the weather doesn't look great, we hope to see many members of the community here to enjoy the day.
The school swimming sports are next Tuesday, and a highlight for the boys will be able to see if our top four McGlashan swimmers can beat our Olympian, Mr. Kane Follows, in a 4 x 25m freestyle relay, where Mr. Follows will be swimming all four legs against them. It is such a shame that our Year 11 boys cannot be there on the day.
Next week, we are looking forward to Te wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), and we are also managing to squeeze in a Duke of Edinburgh tramp. The Year 8 Headway Exhibition on Tuesday night, as well as the Year 7 Market Day on Wednesday.
Finally, good luck to the boys heading off to trap shooting Nationals in Hamilton on Thursday.
Kā mihi,
John Veitch
Acting Principal
