Brodie takes to the skies...
Congratulations to Year 13 student Brodie Miller, who has recently earned his Private Pilot's Licence (PPL).
Brodie has worked diligently towards this goal at the Otago Aero Club over the past three years, balancing his schoolwork, flying hours, and a part-time job that helped finance his flying lessons. This has been a significant effort, and his hard work has finally paid off.
A key part of Brodie's aviation journey was his participation in the school's Year 12 Gateway program. This program provided him with valuable industry experience and allowed him to complete three of the six theory exams required for his PPL, further solidifying his decision to pursue an aviation career.
Next year, Brodie will attend Mainland Aviation College, where he plans to obtain his Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL) along with a flight instructor rating. This will help him build the flying hours necessary to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming an airline pilot.
