Artwork Raises Money for Otago Community Hospice
Five John McGlashan boys from Year 10 Art contributed to Saturday's Oracle Art Auction - a significant fundraiser for Otago Community Hospice. Oracle provided high school students from across Dunedin with canvases and asked them to paint a work on the theme of "My Ōtepoti".
The artworks were exhibited in a showcase alongside the work of established painters Ewan McDougall, Anna Reid and Sam Foley. Not only did all five boys' works sell at auction and raise over $500 for Hospice, but Travis W's work (above) was judged the best student artwork overall.
Each of the boys worked hard on their canvases outside of school, demonstrating our school value of Manaakitanga in serving and uplifting Hospice, an essential community service. Congratulations to Travis W., Lachie B., Lachie T., Andrew B., and Ollie A.
