Ryan Hamilton achieves his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award

On Saturday, Ryan Hamilton proudly received his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award, the highest level of the internationally recognised youth achievement programme. This is an outstanding accomplishment that reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment.

The Gold Award requires participants to set challenging personal goals across a range of areas, including service, skill development, physical activity, adventurous journeys, and a residential project. Completing these takes immense effort and determination, as it often means balancing schoolwork, co-curricular activities, and personal commitments while striving for excellence.

Ryan’s achievement is a testament not only to his resilience and commitment, but also to the spirit of leadership and service that John McGlashan College encourages in its students. The school is extremely proud of his success, which serves as an inspiration to younger students embarking on their own Duke of Edinburgh journeys.

We congratulate Ryan on this significant milestone and celebrate the example he sets for the John McGlashan community.
