A Fantastic Day of Summer Sport - McGlashan emerged as the overall winner on a great day of summer sport, securing victories in Senior Touch, the 1st XI and Colts Cricket, Golf, and Volleyball.
Timaru Boys’ High School made the journey south to face off against our teams in a range of sports, including cricket (1st XI, 2nd XI, and Colts), tennis, volleyball, golf, and both senior and junior touch. The day was filled with friendly rivalry, spirited competition, and great sportsmanship from both sides.
We were particularly pleased with how smoothly the day ran and how cooperative their coaches and teams were. The Colts cricket match lasted almost the full 50 overs each and went until 5:30 pm, but the players and supporters alike kept the enthusiasm going until the very end. From tense rallies on the tennis courts to exciting volleyball and some impressive displays of skill on the golf course, there was plenty of action to keep everyone engaged.
Overall, the event was a testament to the positive sporting relationship between our schools, and we look forward to winter sports at Timaru Boys’ High School next term.
