Tēnā koutou,

This week has been slightly disruptive, with a Teacher Only Day on Monday and a PPTA industrial action day on Wednesday.

We have wrapped up the week with a non-uniform day today to support the upcoming PFA school Fete fundraiser in September. This event is one of the largest fundraisers for the school. The money raised from here goes towards our school community to help fund extracurricular activities and resources, travelling sports teams, outdoor education and many more student activities. We greatly appreciate all the contributions received, as this event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community and PFA members.

Last Friday, we held our House Singing Competition, which was a wonderful celebration of the boys’ singing talent. It was heartening to see all the boys putting forth their best efforts and representing their houses with pride. Each house had a band that performed as well, adding to the excitement. Though judging was challenging, Burns House ultimately emerged as the event winner.

Looking ahead, next week marks the Winter Tournament week, where many of our boys will represent the College in Hockey, Basketball, Football, Rugby, and Ice Hockey. We wish them all the best in their travels.

We also have our first-ever Fashion at McGlashan event here at John McGlashan on Thursday August 28th. I look forward to heading along to see all the hard work come together for the nearly sold-out event! You can buy your tickets here.

Kā mihi,

John Veitch
