A good day for our athletes at the Caledonian

We had a number of talented athletes represent our school in the Otago Secondary Schools' Athletics on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th March.


All boys who competed at the recent event gave their best and it was pleasing to see many top three placings. By achieving a top three individual placing the following boys qualified to compete in the South Island Champs in Nelson:

Under 15s

  • Stanley McClure - 1st long jump, triple jump
  • Caleb Dixon - 1st high jump, 3rd triple jump
  • Zach Cleaver-Donovan - 1st shot put
  • James Paterson - 3rd   discus
  • Jack Timu - 3rd high jump
  • 4 x 100m relay 2nd (Caleb Dixon, Stanley McClure, Ethan Stirling, Jack Hazlett)
  • Josh Whaanga - 2nd 100m 


Under 16s

  • Josh Hou - 1st 400m, 800m
  • Clayton Cochrane - 2nd 100m, 3rd 200m
  • Jed Thompson-Fawcett - 3rd long jump
  • Thomas Sullivan - 3rd 400m
  • 4 x 400m relay 1st (Thomas Sullivan, Jed Thompson-Fawcett, Alban Gosse, Josh Hou)
  • 4 x 100m relay 2nd (Thomas Sullivan, Jed Thompson-Fawcett, LaQuan Sem-Cheyne, Clayton Cochrane)


Under 19s

  • Shay Veitch - 1st long jump, triple jump
  • Nathan Harrison - 1st high jump
  • Ruaidhri Brosnan - 1st 800m
  • Ben Lund - 2nd 400m , 800m
  • Harry McKenzie - 3rd 800m 
  • Archie Calder - 3rd javelin
  • 4 x 400m relay 1st (Ruaidhri Brosnan, Nathan Harrison, Ben Lund, Shay Veitch)
  • 4x 100m relay 3rd (Dominic Morrison,  Cade McRae, Adam Tait, Shay Veitch)
