The year has gotten off to a great start for the music department, with lots of new students getting involved and our returning musicians getting back into their regular practice.
Lunchtimes have been super busy in the music room already, with students trying out our recently set-up Silent Band Stations and many bands already preparing for Rockquest and Bandquest later this year. If you're new to the school, make sure to pop in and see what goes on. In the next few weeks we'll be starting to put calls out for students interested in entering these events to get organised, so now is the time to start asking around your friends and see who is keen to join you on the stage.
Our itinerant tutors gave a showcase concert to our Y7-9 students last Friday, where they were able to hear a range of instruments they may wish to start learning this year. Students can sign-up for lessons on our JMC Arts Hub at the link below, with lesson placements and timetables getting sorted and underway over the coming weeks.
