National Motorcycling X-Country

Wednesday 4th February 2026

Caiden G competed in the National Motorcycling X-Country Championships over the weekend, taking on two tough 1.5 hour races against top riders from around the country.

Friday’s Round 1 was on a rough, technical track. After a couple of early crashes, Caiden showed great determination to recover and finished 3rd in his class.

Sunday’s Round 2 was faster and more open, with Caiden battling near the front. A gear shifter failure forced a quick pit stop late in the race, but he charged back, gaining huge time on the leader and briefly taking the lead. Unfortunately, the shifter failed again on the final lap, leaving him stuck in 3rd gear and just 4 seconds short of the win.

Caiden now heads to the final two rounds in Nelson this March sitting 2nd overall in his class.

Well done Caiden!
