DISC (Dunedin International Social Committee) is a collaboration between international departments of high schools in Dunedin.

It was initiated this year by Mr Mountain and myself in order to provide opportunities for international students from different schools to meet each other and make new friends. It encourages Kiwi friends / home stay brothers and sisters to attend to help integrate our international students into Kiwi culture. - Andrew Wang (International Student Rep)

Leap International Student’s Social

In order to meet new people outside of John McGlashan College, the international students go to different out-of-school activities almost every week to meet other internationals from all over Dunedin.

On August 14th international boys and girls from St. Hilda's, Columba College, Taieri College, Logan Park and JMC went  to the LEAP trampoline park next to the Kensington Oval.  After a short introduction of the rules, all of the students started jumping like crazy. Shortly a big group of students from all over came together and started one of the biggest leap dodgeball fights ever. Almost all of the 20 students took part in the 'fight' and had a great time. You could clearly see how all of the students from all over the world quickly made new friends during the social, exchanged the phone numbers and Facebook details.

Mission Accomplished; the students made new friends from outside of their school and all are looking forward to the next social!
