A week of remembrance. Easter. Anzac Day. Allan Paulin.
This has been a week of looking back for our community. We began the week with our Easter Service. The most significant event in the Christian Calendar where we celebrate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Our service this year focussed on how so many missed realising who Jesus was, because they were waiting and looking for the wrong thing. Looking for a powerful warrior rather than a sacrificial servant leader. Instead they crucified the son of God who came willing to give his life for ours. Who died that each of us may be saved. My challenge for us this Easter is to pause and reflect on where we see God in our lives. Not to miss his work and influence for being to busy expecting and hoping to see him work a certain way.
Our week continued as we reflected on those who followed in this example in sacrificing their lives for our country and freedom as part of our Anzac service.
Finally this week we remember former Principal (1978-1995 at McGlashan) Allan Paulin who passed away. His faith and leadership is a core part of our DNA and history here at McGlashan. We offer our sincere condolences to his family, and thanks again for bearing with the many hours he devoted to our school and community.
I pray that this holiday you all have a safe and refreshing break. That you may find time to reflect on the real history of Easter over this time.
God Bless,
Mike Brown
