Ryan and Adrian had the incredible opportunity to visit each other's country.

Hi, my name is Adrian Lefers. I am an exchange student from Germany, and I will be staying here until the end of the term. I hope to improve my English and experience as much as New Zealand can offer. I am currently staying with Ryan Zhou (Year 12), after he came over to stay with me for his exchange in Germany.
So far, I’ve already had an amazing time. I’ve met lots of students, all of them being incredibly nice. One of my favourite things to have seen was the haka competition. It was very cool to see. Outside of school, I have been blown away by the nature of New Zealand. The beaches, mountains, forests and animals are all fantastic.

I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Germany for two months during the summer holidays, December and January.
The experience I had there was unforgettable. We did so many amazing things, such as visiting monuments, such as the Kölner Dom (Cologne Cathedral) and Berliner Mauer (Berlin Wall), watching football games and seeing the loud and chaotic German fans, or anything Christmas-related, especially the Christmas markets.
I feel that my German skills have greatly improved over this time (hopefully my German teacher agrees), and I’ve met incredible people, such as my exchange partner, Adrian. All in all, I would highly recommend this exchange and encourage any interested students to do it.
