We had a very successful inaugural Timaru Boys High School Summer Sports Exchange this week. It was a day filled with thrilling matches and incredible sportsmanship.
Our Cricket 2nds and Colts engaged in intense 40-over battles, with both matches ending in close defeats, each by about 20 runs. A big thank you to Sam Turner and Hamish McDonald for their excellent guidance of the teams. Despite the rain interrupting play, our Cricket 1sts dominated, chasing 302 before the weather intervened. Special thanks to Nigel Hunter for taking this team.
In tennis, our boys secured 2nd place, while the Golf lads emerged victorious. The Volleyball Seniors triumphed, and the Juniors came incredibly close to clinching victory. We extend our gratitude to John Veitch for coaching both teams. Under the guidance of Tori Fleming, our Touch teams showcased their skills, with the Seniors winning and the Juniors putting up a valiant effort despite a close loss. We extend our appreciation to Timaru Boys High School for hosting us and providing such a fantastic sporting environment. Your hospitality and support are very much appreciated, and we look forward to future exchanges. Thank you for a memorable day of sportsmanship and camaraderie
