Upcycled Couture Competition - Years 7-10

Thursday 26th June 2025

Junior students are invited to enter the Upcycled Couture Competition as part of Fashion at McGlashan!

Year 7 to 10 students are encouraged to enter our Upcycled Couture competition, as part of the Fashion at McGlashan event coming up on 28th August.

This is our exclusive upcycled fashion competition for junior students to source and put together a ready-to-wear outfit, from recycled/thrifted/2nd hand clothing stores from around Dunedin.

You’ll have a month to find and create a runway ready outfit for our Fashion at

McGlashan runway show in the college Chapel.

Selected finalists will have the opportunity to send their outfits down the runway in the Upcycled Couture section, just before intermission. The winner will also be announced at the event.

This competition is all about creativity, sustainability, and giving clothing a

second chance!

Any Year 7, 8, 9, or 10 students can enter from any school. You’ll need to provide your own model, and organise their hair, make-up, and accessories for the runway. You’ll also need to provide photos of your outfit for pre-judging (up to several weeks before the fashion show so that finalists can be chosen).

Register through the Google form link here:
