Our Student Leaders for 2026

Tuesday 24th February 2026

Those who lead give sight to those who follow; those who follow give life to those who lead.

When asked about leadership, Ivan Cleary (Penrith Panthers) said he wants people to come along with him willingly, not be dragged along, and for everyone to feel valued and part of the 'team'. This was shared with the school when we announced the House Leaders and Prefects at Wednesday's assembly.

While we charge this group with leading us forward in formal positions, the wider Year 13 cohort was challenged at Year 13 camp with leading us forward, too.

They were asked to discuss in groups what they wanted to be renowned for in 2026. They referenced authenticity, humility, being good people, approachable, hardworking, role models, caring, inclusive, positive, mana-enhancing, and empathetic. One group said they wanted to be the type of leader they would have wanted as a Year 9.

When asked what they would commit to as a leadership group, they said, 'always doing our best for the students.' This reflects our value of Manaakitanga, servant leadership and uplifting others.

You will see that we have changed the Prefect structure back to portfolios and aligned these under each of the values. We are always led by our values.

Mā mua ka kite a muri, mā muri ka ora a mua
