Aotearoa School Library Week 2024

Monday 19th August 2024

From the 12th to the 16th of August, we celebrated Aotearoa School Library Week with five days of library-related activities and events.

Over the course of the week, students

  • hunted for aliens in our scavenger hunt

  • caught magnetic fish and matched their catch to a wrapped up, mystery library book

  • guessed the book in the jar

  • completed bookish word finds and crosswords

  • drank hot chocolate at our Reading Café

  • received a chocolate fish when borrowing a library book or magazine

  • wrote book reviews in our library web app

  • tested their book knowledge in our library week quiz

Congratulations to the winners of the lucky prize draws: Levi Le Cong, Henry Cook and Archer Jones. Each of these boys won a $30 gift card from Paper Plus.

Congratulations too, to Joshua Woods in 7LMC who was presented with his librarian badge following the lunch time quiz.

As well as being great fun, Library Week increased student engagement with our library, promoted books and reading, and celebrated the important place of our library within the College. We are looking forward to another successful Library Week in 2025!
