As the school year draws to a close, there are a few 'end of year' notices from the library.

End of year book returns

Year 11, 12 and 13 students who still have books on loan are asked to please return them now, or see the library staff if they wish to renew their books for the summer holidays. Thank you to all the senior students who have already returned their library books.

Library books on loan to students in Years 7 to 10 are due by 15th November. Again, any students who would like to renew their books for the holidays need to see Mrs Gardiner or Mrs Watts in the library.

Summer Book Bags

Our summer holiday reading programme begins at the end of November. We have some sharp-looking new bags this year, thanks to funding received from the Parents and Friends Association.

Students in Years 7, 8 and 9 will visit the library with their classes and choose a bag full of library books (plus a few goodies!) to take home for the summer. Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 are also encouraged to borrow a Summer Book Bag over the holidays, and can come to the library anytime during week 6 (the week beginning Monday 18th of November) to choose their books.

Summer Book Bags (both the library books and the bags themselves) must be returned to the library on the first day of school in 2025.

Kiwi Christmas Books Charity Book Drive

Thank you to everyone who has already donated a brand new children's book to the Kiwi Christmas Books charity book collection. Donations close on Friday 29th November, so there is still time to donate!

Please drop off a brand new children's book or two to the boxes in the office or in the library, or you can make a monetary donation to the JMC fundraising account 03-0905-0328262-003 with the reference Xmas Books, and we will purchase some books to donate on your behalf. The books we collect will be distributed to families in need in the Dunedin area.
