A strong McGlashan presence was on show at the Otago/Southland Waterski Championships in Bannockburn, with excellent performances and a great atmosphere across the day.
Waterskiing is an exciting sport to watch, combining speed, control and precision. The event was run superbly by an enthusiastic organising team, creating a competitive but supportive environment for all skiers.
Congratulations to Harry S, who won his division, and to Henry, who placed second in his. Both boys showed composure and skill under pressure.
Athletes first aim to successfully complete the course, then gradually increase boat speed as their confidence and technique improve. Once consistent at higher speeds, they progress to the championship course, where the buoys are set further apart, placing greater demands on strength, edge control and timing. It is pleasing to see our boys advancing through these stages and continuing to develop their performance.
