SPORTS DAY AND FUN DAY FOR INTERNATIONALS

Tuesday 3rd September 2024

International students from all over Dunedin were invited to participate in the Otago Secondary Schools Sports Association Sports Day at Logan Park.

John McGlashan sent 2 teams of 6 students and we competed against 15 teams from other schools. We played football, tennis, frisbee and cricket. The games were thrilling but full of challenges as frisbee and cricket were new to most of us. It was exciting because when the results were announced the 2 McGlashan teams had beaten everyone else and had tied for first place. As Mr Hunter says, when we try hard "we get what we deserve" and this was the case on the sports day because we had all tried really hard.

On Sunday, August 25th, international teachers Mrs Rose Sinclair and Mrs Kirstyn Sandall hosted an engaging "Fun Day Sunday" for all international students. We started the day with 2 exciting games of bowling. We were divided into 5 lanes and competed against each other. Luckily, I was in second place in my group. After the game of bowling, we went to Megazone to play laser tag and back to school for a relaxed lunch featuring Subway sandwiches and cookies. While enjoying the sandwich, we also set up the cornhole game indoors because of the bad weather outside, however, our happiness wasn't affected by the bad weather.
