Starter for five..."I was born in 1993 and I'm from a large family"

Thursday 8th September 2016

Did you guess Stephen Adams? If you did then you earned your team five points out of a possible 100. This was just one example of the type of questions asked last week at the Otago Daily Times Junior Social Studies Quiz held at Kaikorai Valley High School.

The competition was tight, and our best-performed team of Harrison Biggs, Patrick Zhang and Ben Lund scored a creditable 95 to finish in tie a for third.

All of the boys commented on how much fun they had and some thought they had learnt something. Although let's hope that as they work their way through senior school, they realise that it's a good idea to have done the learning before the "quiz" takes place. This is an annual event, and we look forward to this year's Year 9's taking part again next year.
