Winners! Otago Intermediate Interschool Teams Chess Championships

Last Saturday at Trinity College library, our Intermediate A team of Tomide Adebowale, Liam Mao, Hugh Walker and Ray Zhang played their hearts out for six hours in an intense competition of match play chess, comprising of some clever strategic manoeuvring and outwitting their opponents to result in a victory over second place getters Balmacewen A and some other strong local school teams.

Their efforts have secured them a spot at the National Championships in Christchurch later in the year and some prize money, which the boys were thrilled about!
