Neptune swim club Queens Birthday competition

On Queen’s birthday weekend three of the college’s boys competed at the Neptune clubs Queens birthday swim competition. This is the second biggest swimming competition in the South Island after the South Island competitions in January.


The three lads performed really well, with a haul of medals and / or top 8 places. The boy’s competing were, Hugo Beeby Year 7, Lachlan Russell Year 9 and Ewan Beadell Year 11.

Ewan’s focus for the meet was on distance events, 1500m (1st), 800m (2nd), 400m (2nd) & 200m (2nd) Freestyle - 15 year olds.

Hugo - competed in a wide range of events achieving great results including 3x 1sts: 400m freestyle (1st) 50m Fly (1st) & 200m free (1st) as well as 4x 2nds, 1 x 3rd. Placing 2nd in the 200 IM, he qualified for the SKINS events, which he won - 11 year olds.

Lachlan - also competed in a wide range of events placing 2nd in 200m free, 3x 4th, 1x 5th, 2 x 6th. Lachlan also competed in the 200 IM, qualifying for the SKINS events, which he very competently competed in several rounds - 13 year olds.
