Invitation to Participate in the Inaugural Southern Arthouse Tour:
Request for Houses
Dear Parents, Caregivers, Staff and Alumni of Columba and John McGlashan Colleges,
We are excited to announce the inaugural Southern Arthouse Tour on Saturday 2 November 2024, organised by our parent associations. Unfortunately, we have lost a house that we had previously lined up for this event. We therefore kindly invite homeowners from our school communities to consider offering their home as one of the eight arthouses for this special event. By participating, you will contribute to an event that promotes art appreciation, supports local artists, and we expect will raise significant funds for our schools. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect as an arthouse owner:
Requirements:
• Historically, architecturally, or otherwise noteworthy property
• Clearly defined spaces for displaying art in public areas
• Ability to close off or lock non-public areas
• Accessible location, ideally within 20 km of both schools
• Adequate parking and easy access
Key Points:
• Artworks will be displayed using existing fixtures or on temporary easels, no new fixtures will be added • Volunteers will be present to enforce Arthouse Tour rules
• ·Event will take place from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, 2 November 2024
Responsibilities:
• Homeowners should verify their insurance coverage for the event and adjust if needed • Artists will sign agreements with indemnity clauses to limit liability for artwork loss or damage
Timeline:
• Access to your home needed one week before for sponsor signage, two days before for furniture arrangement, one day before for artwork setup, and on event day from 8:30am to 5:00pm
