This week saw Aaron Columbus, Kirstyn Sandall (General Manager) and Drew Campbell (Director of Boarding) out and about around the region on country visits.
These engagement activities are connected to our boarding community. On Tuesday, we visited Gore and presented to prospective boarding families about who we are, our values-led approach, and boarding life. We were then joined by current boarding families.
On Wednesday, we then journeyed up to Wānaka for a similar event and enjoyed engaging with current boarding families there. This was followed by a return to the Maniototo, after a very successful engagement event in Waipiata in October last year, and an event at Lohi in Ranfurly, owned by former McGlashan parents Tanya and Russ.
Our visit to Ranfurly coincided with the Doug O’Malley Cup junior rugby fixture between Maniototo and Eastern, which we enjoyed before the community event at Lohi. It was great to see prospective boarders playing, then coming over to our event to hear about life at John McGlashan College.
We enjoy being out in the regions and going to our boarding community. We look forward to returning later in the year for engagement events. In the meantime, we look forward to the boarding open afternoon here at school on 8 May. Reach out to Kim Jellie if there are any questions about this event or the boarding enrolment process.
