After a huge effort of fundraising $150k for the trip, 32 students and 6 coaches and staff travelled to Japan during the school holidays.
This was an amazing trip that had a mixture of cultural, sporting and social experiences.
The boys played four games while we were away, winning two and losing two. The two that the team lost were against two of the top four teams in Japan.
The team got to sample a number of different foods such Ramens, Japanese Pizzas, sushi to curries. The boys said it would be hard to pick their favourite as it all tasted amazing.
Some of the highlights of the trip were having a go at Sumo wrestling, going to a baseball game, riding the bullet train and going to universal studios.
Our boys were lucky enough to spend some time with some of the boys they played against at after match functions and a few contact details were swapped so that they can keep in touch in the future.
A big shout out to our Ex Head Boy, Jack Timu, who came and watched us play two games.
Overall, a great trip for everyone including the 50-odd family members that joined us on the tour. Hopefully the boys have gained a lot of learning from the new experiences on this trip.
