Incredibly led by Tom Proctor and Matt Ford, the 2021 prefect team joined up with prefects from Columba College to bring much-appreciated cheer at Yvette Williams Retirement Village.

The smallest gestures of kindness can go a long way to lifting the spirits of those whose lives have become restricted through age. A fund-raiser, seeking a few donations and one hour of their time saw our prefects become the recipients of inner joy that comes from knowing you have made a positive difference in someone's life.

Gifts aside, the residents simply enjoyed having a captive audience of young men and women to share their stories with, and to offer the odd word of advice gleaned from living life for over 100 years (in some cases)! Clearly, our students gained much from the experience and had the opportunity to contemplate the truth that life is for living whilst one has the time.

Special thanks to Patagonias owners, Alejandro and Lorena Gimenez for their very generous donation for the packages. Be sure to support their fabulous businesses when you are in the area.
