Key points

1. Otago University and Otago Polytechnic are open to prospective students. 

2. There are no classes for Year 13 at school on Monday, 5 May. 

3. Year 12s may go with parental permission. Please email Helen in the office. 

4. Both days run a full programme of tours, info sessions, open lectures, and question booths.

5. Suggestion: use Sunday for halls (if relevant) and Monday for an academic focus.

FAQs 

1. Do I have to register to attend? No, just show up. 

2. Is there parking? Not really. Better to use public transport. 

3. What about halls of residence? There is a hop-on on hop-off shuttle bus running that you can take advantage of, and some general information sessions. 

4. What time does it go to? 9am - 3pm 

5. Do I wear a school uniform? No

6. Should my parents come? It’s up to you. 

7. Will university students be on campus? Yes, but they won’t attend introductory lectures. 

8. What about scholarships? There are information sessions on both Sunday and Monday


Advice

1. Plan out your day early and find it on the map. 

2. Show up early because popular sessions will fill up quickly. 

3. Plan your day around what YOU want to see

 4. If you are a bit nervous or intimidated, I suggest putting a plan together with one or two friends. Go together. 

5. Go through both programmes and highlight everything you might be interested in, and go along.

 6. Try and see as much as you can. There are no other open days
