As the days grow shorter and the cooler weather sets in, the work at Te Kūwaha Mātauraka continues.
The grass may be growing slower, but the energy is about to increase with the arrival of Year 8 camp next week. This camp will offer the boys a chance to experience the great outdoors, fostering a sense of adventure, teamwork, and appreciation for nature.
Behind the scenes, plenty of work has been underway at the lodge to ensure it remains a comfortable and welcoming space for the boys during their stay. In line with our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’ve recently planted an additional 30 native plants around the site. This initiative not only enhances the beauty of our grounds but also supports local biodiversity, making sure Te Kūwaha Mātauraka continues to be a thriving part of the landscape for years to come.
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Wakatipu High School, adding to the growing number of schools and groups seeking to benefit from our facilities. Looking ahead in 2025, we are thrilled to have another 20 schools and groups already booked, ensuring another busy year.
It’s also been wonderful to see John McGlashan families embracing what Te Kūwaha Mātauraka has to offer. I encourage any families who wish to come and stay to please get in contact with me.
As we head into the new season, we look forward to more opportunities to connect with schools, families, and groups, all while continuing to focus on sustainability and creating memorable experiences for everyone who visits Te Kūwaha Mātauraka.
