It was a busy time at Anzac, with several boys ticking off key milestones during the tournament.
Our boys kicked off the 2025 hockey season by heading up to Timaru for the ANZAC Tournament. Our 1st XI came away with excellent results and we are incredibly proud of our Under 15 team who played their first games together as a team - with many of them having their first games on a full sized turf in 11 aside Hockey. They played against mainly senior students, and they really held their own, learned a lot out on the field and are rearing to get stuck into the season ahead!

Cody Gradwell reached the big 50 game milestone against Christ’s, fittingly leading the side in that one. An ever-present at the back he will be hoping for a big year.
Max Nation knocked in his 25th 1st XI goal against Shirley Boys, which was his 8th for the week
Max Braithwaite started the season well with 11 goals in four games. taking his 1st XI tally to 44 goals, and the third highest since 2014. Ahead of him is Ryan Whelan (51) and Jack Cotton (56).
A fantastic start to the year, a huge congratulations to these boys, and thank you to all our Coaches and Team Management who took time out of their busy lives to take such fabulous care of our boys.
