Last Friday, the Year 9 students had the opportunity to enjoy a traditional German breakfast in their classroom.
In the Guten Appetit! UnitYear 9 students have learnt how to name breakfast items like Brot (bread), Butter (butter), Marmelade (jam), Honig (honey), and Milch (milk). These words are similar to English, are they? In addition to lots of new vocabulary, we have covered verbs and how they change according to the subject.
For the final test, we had a big breakfast with bread rolls (die Brötchen), Nutella and jam (die Marmelade), Salami (die Salami), ham (der Schinken), and orange juice (der Orangensaft). It was a great opportunity for the students to put their newly acquired German vocabulary and language skills to the test.
Congratulations to everyone! You all displayed excellent manners, and we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast. No one had to go hungry, thanks to the students' newly acquired German language skills.
Greetings from the German classroom!
Frau Renner and Frau Cooke.
We are very lucky to have Frau Cooke, one of our students' teachers, in the German classroom. She studied German at University, and in her seven weeks at JMC, she will support the students in their German learning in all classes and teach a new unit in Year 9 German.
