Summer Blues were given out a recent assembly, and our Hockey 1st XI battled against the elements when playing Christ's College from Christchurch.


Sporting blues are awarded to those boys who have displayed excellence in their chosen sport. A selection panel meets to select the recipients.

Cricket

Liam Barron Is as member of the Otago U17 Cricket team and was named Dunedin U15 cricketer of the year.

Mason Gain (endorsed) Is as member of the Otago U17 Cricket team and was named Dunedin Metro U17 player of the year, Otago U17 batsmen of the year, and also won the Otago U17 outstanding performer award.

Henry Scott (endorsed)  Was captain of the Otago U17 side and awarded the Dunedin U17 Batsmen of the year. Henry has also played for Otago U19s.

Rowing

Fynn Allison (endorsed)  Won 2 bronze medals at the Maadi Cup to go along with numerous medals won at other regattas. Was in the Otago U20 team for the interprovincial competition.

Charlie Carran Won a bronze medal at the South Island Secondary Schools regatta and was in the quad that was in the A final at Maadi Cup, and at the Club Nationals.

Oliver Hamilton Was a South Island triallist after securing a silver and bronze medal at the Maadi Cup, and won numerous medals at other rowing regattas.

Angus Loe  Made 2 A finals at the Maadi Cup and was outstanding in the singles final to finish 5th. Won a bronze and silver medal at the South Island Secondary School champs.

Matt O’Meara Represented South Island Secondary Schools after winning a silver and bronze medal at the Maadi Cup, and also won numerous medals at other rowing regattas.

Mark Smith (endorsed) Was a New Zealand U19 triallist and won two bronze medals at the Maadi Cup, a gold in the Nationals club quad, and numerous medals at South island Champs.

Aidan Seyb Cox for numerous teams and a number of medals at regattas including a gold in the U18 quad at club nationals and bronze at the Maadi Cup. Aidan Is nominated for 3 awards at the Otago Rower of the year awards.

Tennis

Marco Hartono (endorsed) U16 Tennis Otago Boy of the year 2021/ 2022. Has played for Tennis Otago Senior team as has been selected in the U17 Southern team to play in Tennis NZ Nationals teams event in Wellington over Labour Weekend.

Touch Referee

Michael Buttery (endorsed) Selected in the NZ development high performance squad and to officiate the NZ U18 & U20 trials. Michael has been the highest ranked youth referee in NZ for the last 2 years.

Touch

Charlie Breen 4 seasons in Senior A touch team, and was in the Otago U18 team who won the South Island tournament.

Stanley McClure (endorsed) 5 seasons in Senior A touch team, and was in the Otago U18 team who won the South Island tournament.

Jack Timu endorsed Was named in NZ U18 team, after playing 5 seasons for JMC Senior A and representing the Otago U18 boys touch team who won the South Island tournament.

Josh Whaanga endorsed 5 seasons in Senior A touch team, and was in the Otago U18 team who won South Island tournament.

Volleyball

Amani James Fourth season in JMC Senior A team and was a member of the Otago U19 team which claimed bronze at the recent National champs in Wellington


Our 1st XI Hockey team battled the weather to come out on top of Christ's College 3 -1.

Congratulatiuons to Ryan Zhao who a Silver medal in the colour belt Poomsae individual event, the Gold medal in pairs, and the Silver medals in the Kyorugi at the recent Taekwondo South Island Championship in Christchurch.

The 1st XV continued on its winning way with a hard fought 14 - 8 win over Kings High School in trying conditions. The team welcomes Otago Boys' High School to our ground with a 12.45pm kick off on Saturday.

At the Otago Cross Country Champs Will Harrex won the U14 race and Angus Loe won the U16 race.
