With Senior Practice Examinations and our NCEA Literacy and Numeracy Assessments scheduled to take place over the next two weeks, we are again seeking the support of our wonderful community.
The senior school is preparing for practice external examinations in Week 9 (8–11 September). These provide students with the opportunity to take exams under authentic conditions and receive feedback prior to their end-of-year NCEA assessments. Some Year 10 students will also be attempting the NCEA Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite assessments on 3, 5, and 10 September.
A number of students sit these exams with NZQA-approved Special Assessment Conditions. This may include having a reader or writer, using a computer, or receiving extra time. To support them, we are seeking volunteers who can:
Act as a reader (read questions aloud without giving hints or answers)
Act as a writer (record exactly what the student dictates)
Supervise students during their assessments
Full instructions and guidance will be provided, and volunteers will be matched with roles that best suit their skills and interests. Previous helpers have found the experience rewarding and a great way to contribute directly to student success.
If you are able to provide any assistance, that would be greatly appreciated. Please complete the following form as soon as possible.

If you know of other people in the community who may be able and willing to help, I would also greatly appreciate hearing from them.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions.
Regards,
Donna Smith
