Two photographs documenting the College opening day and featuring the first Principal Mr. Arthur G. Butchers are among several items purchased through the auction.
Recently, while scrolling through the online contents of a local auction, our HoD Arts Bryn Jones discovered two significant photographs of the 1918 opening day of John McGlashan College along with a pre-opening prospectus and several other college magazines dating from 1929.
Both the prospectus and one of the photographs feature the newly appointed Principal, Mr. Arthur G. Butchers, as well as the original school buildings.
The next step will be to frame and display these items somewhere in the college!
