We were fortunate to have Henry Bell, who was Head Boy of 2017, visit McGlashan and talk about his experience of Otago winning the Ranfurly Shield.
He shared memorable stories about taking the shield from Canterbury last month in a close 38-36 victory, and playing against his brother, All Black George Bell, in the match.
Henry emphasised the pride he felt while playing and the emotions tied to winning the shield. After his talk, he took the shield around the classrooms, allowing the boys to take photos with it.
