Recognising student development in Knowledge and Understanding, Effort and Attitude and Self Management and Collaboration
We are implementing a new system for providing regular progress feedback to parents regarding your child's progress this year. These progress reports will complement the regular reporting cycle each semester.
Every three weeks, starting in week 4, we will provide formative feedback by way of a grade from 1-4 on the following three components:
He Akoraka | Knowledge & Understanding
He Whanoka Pono | Effort and Attitude
He Hapori | Self Management and Collaboration
Descriptors for each component and grade is attached below
Once a term, students will also fill in a self-assessment of their progress using the same 1-4 scale. We will work with students on what it means to have agency in their learning in form classes and with Deans.
Student recognition
Each term, students can work towards gaining our He Akoraka, He Whanoka Pono, and He Hapori certificates. These are Dean’s Awards, awarded at Dean’s assemblies at the end of the term. Students can achieve any or all of the three certificates by maintaining a progress grade average of 3.5 in the respective component for the term.
