Backstage Pass - bringing professional theatre into the classroom

New Fortune Theatre initiative  seeks to allow more performing arts students from around the South Island to experience the wonders of professional theatre, without even stepping out of the classroom.

Recently our Year 13 Drama class at John McGlashan College was asked to trial Backstage Pass, a new Fortune Theatre IT initiative.  Using digital technology (video conferencing), the class was able to watch several rehearsals for the new upcoming play, Grounded, then talk with the show's main actor and director, all from the comfort of their drama classroom on the basement floor of the Edgar Learning Centre.
