Hi, I am Henry and I got the opportunity to go to Germany to partake in the PASCH-Jugendkurs scholarship program.
The PASCH-Jugendkurs is a yearly program that offers the opportunity for students to apply for a 20 day, all costs covered, scholarship for students around the world to go to Germany from the 5th to the 25th of July. This opportunity is only given to 7 schools around New Zealand, who are part of the PASCH schools in NZ.
At the end of last year, I applied to this program by sending an application document describing my goals for the trip, along with other forms and criteria I needed to meet, and I was luckily given this opportunity along with 6 other students around New Zealand. I am very much looking forward to this trip, as it is the first time I have ever participated in a program like this one.
This is a fantastic opportunity for any students who are doing German, as going to Germany as a part of a program like this allows for an authentic experience of Germany, which is a great chance for students to learn the language first hand and be able to learn about real German culture.

Our senior German students applied for various Goethe-Institut scholarships and exchange programs, and we’re hopeful that even more students will have the chance to participate in immersive experiences in the future.
