Tēnā koutou,

It's been another busy week at the College with many of our current families also taking up the opportunity to attend our Junior and Senior Interviews this week. We hope you found these meetings valuable and received meaningful feedback about your son’s progress so far this year. If you missed out on these interviews, feel free to contact your teachers individually.

As we enter the season when Year 9-13 students start to reflect on their current subject choices and consider their studies for 2026, it’s essential for them to also think about their future career paths over the next 3-4 months. We often encourage students to choose subjects that align with their strengths, academic capabilities, creativity, and interests. See our full article in the press for more information.

On Tuesday morning, our Year 12 and 13 students attended the Standard Alcoholic Drinks Workshop, led by local police and external agencies. This session provided important education on the effects of alcohol and strategies to stay safe and look after others, an essential part of growing into responsible young adults.

On Wednesday, we had our annual Year 7 and 8 Winter Sports Exchange with Balmacewen Intermediate. It was a wonderful day of competition, with many senior students turning out to support the younger boys. As the winter season winds down, preparations are well underway for Tournament Week, which is coming up in a few weeks time.

Finally, there’s a real buzz around the senior boys ahead of tomorrow night’s Senior Formal at the Otago Museum. We’re looking forward to what promises to be a memorable and enjoyable evening for all involved.

Kā mihi,

John Veitch
Acting Principal
