Year 11 Drama students performed their own devised pieces at Olveston Historic Home last week.
It was great to see the culmination of a fair bit of creative thought and planning as the boys performed their pieces for their devising assessment - a 5 credit drama internal where students are invited to devise their own theatre pieces, basing it on a location of local significance.
The boys have been travelling to Olveston for a few weeks now to scout locations and learn about the history of the home and the families that have owned it to inspire their pieces. Thanks very much to Chris Manley for hosting us on site and sharing your encyclopaedic knowledge!
Of course, no performance is complete without an audience and we were thrilled to be joined by St. Hildas' Year 7 class, who were excellent! Thanks very much to the students and their teachers for supporting our young actors, writers and directors.
