This week in assembly, we presented library badges to 17 new student librarians.
At the beginning of each new school year, we have a pleasing number of students who are keen to be student librarians and help out in the Library. They do an amazing job, issuing books to classes, helping their peers to use the library, and keeping on top of the ever-present shelving. They also model the behaviour we expect in the Library and exhibit our values of excellence, respect and manaakitanga at all times. The Library would not function as efficiently without their hard work.
Those who have not previously been a librarian at McGlashan work through a training programme, and must pass a test to gain their library badge. So far this term, the students below have completed these requirements and were recognised in this week's assembly. We welcome them into our 2026 group of around 65 student librarians, a group which will grow further as the year progresses and more boys complete their library training.
