The focus for Year 10 English is the second part of term three has been public speaking and developing their prepared speeches. The topic for this year was 'This is my passion, and this is why you should care.'

This lead to a plethora of topics being researched and written about, before perfecting the delivery of these engaging and often motivating speeches.

The Year 10 Speech Competition was held on Tuesday 25th September and was judged this year by Ms Bell and Year 13 student Will Paterson. They commented that 'there were a number of very well written speeches on a really diverse range of topics. The boys engaged the audience well and we were really impressed by the boy's willingness to share personal experiences and stories.'

The finalists competing were: Max Baldwin, Ali Dohan, Samuel Garry, Mason Prentice, Tom Procter, Andre Radel, Hamish Ross, Sam Tait, Jed Thompson-Fawcett and William Tong.

Final placings awarded were:

1st - William Tong

2nd - Hamish Ross

3rd - Sam Tait
